NCL’s newest ship hasn’t even arrived and already the cruise line is giving its fans a taste of what’s coming next.
Norwegian Aqua is set to debut in March 2025 and will be the newest ship in the NCL fleet. It will also be the first of the “Prima Plus” class of ships. This class is similar to the regular Prima class, with Norwegian Prima and Viva, but is increased in size by about 10%.
Now the cruise line has announced details of the second Prima Plus ship, which will be named Norwegian Luna.
According to NCL, Luna will be a “twin sister-ship” to Norwegian Aqua. It will come in at 156,300 gross tons and offer space for 3,550 passengers at double occupancy. Onboard, you’ll see a lot of similarities with Prima, Viva, and Aqua.
This includes Ocean Boulevard, the massive walkway around the lower part of the ship that brings passengers closer to the ocean (complete with infinity pools overlooking the edge of the ship). The Indulge Food Hall — with 10 different dining options — will make an appearance. So too will high-end restaurants like Le Bistro and Onda by Scarpetta.
For fun, the main event will be the Aqua Slidecoaster, which NCL describes as a “hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide” that it says will be one of the longest and fastest slides on any cruise ship. There’s also the Glow Court (a digital interactive sports area) and The Drop, a 10-story dry slide.
Of course, there’s also a big emphasis on The Haven, which is NCL’s “resort within a resort” complete with its own private areas for Haven guests only and upscale rooms. This includes a new cabin style to debut on Prima Plus ships — three-bedroom duplex suites.

Perhaps the best news is that passengers in North America will have plenty of opportunities to sail on Norwegian Luna. Other ships like Prima and Viva have seemingly been on a short cycle at homeports. For instance, we count eight different departure ports for 2025 sailings aboard Norwegian Viva.
Instead, NCL will place its 21st ship in the fleet in Miami (at least from its arrival through November 2026. From there, it will sail 7-day Caribbean cruises to ports including Puerto Plata, Tortola, Roatan, and its private destinations Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye.

Luna will arrive in April 2026. Bookings are now open, with prices starting at $1,404 per person with taxes and port fees included.
